Compliance Assurance Officer

UK-based | Remote working model

Are you passionate about ensuring strong regulatory outcomes and confident assessing customer journeys in a mortgage servicing environment?

We’re looking for a Compliance Assurance Officer to join a dynamic and collaborative Risk & Compliance function, with a particular focus on outcomes monitoring, third-party oversight, and assurance. Please note - this is a 12 month fixed term contract requiring someone who is available to start within the next 2 months.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Conduct monitoring and assurance activities in line with a structured Oversight & Assurance Framework.
  • Assess customer outcomes from outsourced servicing activity and report on performance measures.
  • Identify and escalate emerging themes or systemic risks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop testing frameworks and maintain structured audit trails for assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with third-party servicers and internal operations teams to ensure risks are well managed and regulatory standards are met.
  • Support quarterly reporting cycles and contribute to MI dashboards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Consumer Duty, MCOB, CONC, SYSC).
  • Analyse servicing data, SLAs and quality scores to highlight potential areas of concern.
  • Foster constructive relationships across internal teams and external partners.

What We’re Looking For :

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on experience in monitoring or assurance within a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of FCA regulations, particularly relating to mortgages and consumer protection.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and SharePoint to track actions and produce evidence trails.
  • Confident working independently and presenting assurance findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot trends or potential customer harm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.
  • Previous experience in mortgage servicing or working with third-party servicers.
  • Knowledge of financial crime controls and data protection regulation.
  • Familiarity with CeMAP Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
