Software Test Engineer

Software Test Engineer We are recruiting for a Software Test Engineer to join an established technology business with a global reputation for radar and navigation systems. The role is based on-site in Enfield, with flexible working hours available. Role responsibilities :

• Build and test software to support advanced radar and surveillance products
• Produce and maintain test specifications, plans and reports
• Work with engineering teams to improve software testability
• Support automation of builds and testing
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and customers on software-related matters
• Occasionally travel in the UK or overseas to support software testing on vessels Skills and experience required :
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience testing Windows-based software applications (not purely e-commerce websites)
• Experience writing test plans, specifications and reports
• Experience of building software and installers is desirable
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages to support test automation
• Understanding of the software engineering lifecycle, with particular focus on testing and integration
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Qualifications :
• A good engineering degree with software content, or equivalent practical experience Personal qualities :
• Team player with excellent attention to detail
• Willing to occasionally travel for project needs (UK and overseas)
• Able to work permanently on-site in Enfield. Remote working is not offered for this role Flexible working options :
• 37-hour week with the option to work either :
• 4.5 days per week, with a regular half day off each week
• 9 days over a two-week period, with one day off every fortnight Security and vetting requirements :
• Candidates must be able to meet strict UK Government and MOD security vetting standards
• UK passport holders and those with 5 years of UK residency will progress more smoothly through clearance
• Candidates must be able to provide a full work history and account for any gaps, such as travel, temporary work, or unemployment
