Job Title : SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Location : Sheffield

Salary Range : £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)

Start Time : Immediate

Contract : Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a nurturing and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support students at a warm and inclusive school in Sheffield . As an SEN Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social or emotional challenges . Your focus will be on helping students achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver tailored 1 : 1 and small group interventions for students with SEN.
  • Support students with EHCP targets and contribute to review processes.
  • Adapt classroom materials and activities to suit individual learning styles.
  • Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Foster independence, confidence and appropriate behaviour in pupils.
  • Provide feedback to teachers and parents on student progress and areas for development.
  • Uphold strong safeguarding practices at all times.

Job Requirements :

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Understanding of different special educational needs and relevant support strategies.
  • A caring, patient and adaptable nature.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full-time availability and commitment to making a lasting impact.
  • Have an  updated CV  ( covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps ) and  an enhanced DBS  registered to the  Update Service  (or be willing to apply for one).
