Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations. Our client is a leading provider of construction safety solutions with a wide-ranging client base in Rail & Construction, Power, Transmission, Manufacturing, and Distribution. They are currently looking for a Transport Operations Manager at their site in Glasgow on a Monday to Friday basis.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide oversight, governance, and support to the operation and wider team in the effective management of all commercial vehicles, plant, fleet, and drivers.
Agree vehicle and equipment specifications, including bespoke requirements.
Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
Divest equipment optimizing returns while considering responsible and environmental factors.
Support and challenge Regional Operations Managers to achieve cost-effectiveness through the budget process and monitor maintenance and repair expenditures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory needs, including :
Operator Licence compliance
Legal and drivers' hours compliance
Mandatory vehicle inspections and Statutory Lifting Inspection compliance
DVSA KPI monitoring and trend analysis
Contribute towards defining vehicle and equipment standard specifications for the UK.

The Ideal Candidate :

CPC qualified is essential.

Experience in a similar role and environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using routing software and Taco systems.

Ability to cope in challenging situations and work accurately with attention to detail.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Dedication to customer service and commitment to quality.

Ability to assess difficult situations and self-manage them while working to tight deadlines.
