Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations. Our client is a leading provider of construction safety solutions with a wide-ranging client base in Rail & Construction, Power, Transmission, Manufacturing, and Distribution. They are currently looking for a Transport Operations Manager at their site in Glasgow on a Monday to Friday basis.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide oversight, governance, and support to the operation and wider team in the effective management of all commercial vehicles, plant, fleet, and drivers.
  • Agree vehicle and equipment specifications, including bespoke requirements.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
  • Divest equipment optimizing returns while considering responsible and environmental factors.
  • Support and challenge Regional Operations Managers to achieve cost-effectiveness through the budget process and monitor maintenance and repair expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory needs, including :
  • Operator Licence compliance
  • Legal and drivers' hours compliance
  • Mandatory vehicle inspections and Statutory Lifting Inspection compliance
  • DVSA KPI monitoring and trend analysis
  • Contribute towards defining vehicle and equipment standard specifications for the UK.

The Ideal Candidate :

  • CPC qualified is essential.
  • Experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using routing software and Taco systems.
  • Ability to cope in challenging situations and work accurately with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Dedication to customer service and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to assess difficult situations and self-manage them while working to tight deadlines.
