Job description

JOB- Graduate Mechanical Engineer

LOCATION- Cambridge

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £28,000 to £30,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is currently recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a growing and innovative engineering team based in Cambridge . This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to work on a variety of cutting-edge robotics, automation systems, and precision machinery for the medical and healthcare sectors .

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes :

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering , Mechatronics, or a related discipline
  • A strong academic background with project experience in mechanical design or robotics
  • Good 3D CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, or similar )
  • Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms, actuators, and motion systems
  • An understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer role will involve :

  • Assisting in the design and development of automated systems and medical devices
  • Creating and updating CAD models and technical drawings
  • Supporting prototype builds, testing, and analysis
  • Working with cross-functional teams including electronics and software engineers
  • Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous product improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant medical and engineering standards
