Job description

Recruitment 99 are very pleased to offer this fire safety service manager role to the market.

Objectives of the role

Formulate and carryout successful strategies to continuously improve performance across the company and increase profitable growth by :

o Maintaining and developing good client relationships with our existing client accounts

o Ensure there is a continuous pipeline of new service & maintenance works, both with new clients and existing accounts

o Together with our Head of Business, drive and develop the opportunity of the Residential Sprinkler market for both installation and maintenance contracts

o Demonstrate and deliver strong technical problem-solving skills.

o Ensure commercially efficient logistical planning of external resources across both installation and service & maintenance teams

o Lead and educate external resource to seek new opportunities

o As part of the management team, work towards and support new commercial projects and company objectives

o Report to Senior Management on key performance indicators set

o In line with company monitoring, manage and review external contractors and suppliers

o Practice and apply company processes across the organisation

o Secure compliance within the company by participating in external company audits – these will include : – BRE Product Management (LPCB Certification), Health & Safety, Quality Management ISO901 : 2015.

Key Duties and Responsibilities : –

  • Actively seek new business. Following up on incoming enquiries as well as proactively seeking new opportunities.
  • Develop new business and maintain good client relationships within existing clients. With a focus to increase the number of Service Agreement Clients.
  • Prepare quotations for new or remedial works within the given timeframes.
  • Attend necessary Client / Site / Project Meetings.
  • To ensure that all site engineers have continuity of work and to make sure all engineers have the correct parts and equipment to undergo their planned works.
  • Scheduling and the booking of Service works, using our internal systems and following existing processes.
  • Demonstrating good technical problem-solving skills i.e. using your technical knowledge to provide commercially cost effective solutions to client works.
  • Ordering of materials and hire equipment for specific works. Using our approved suppliers, ensuring profitability is maintained within the scope of the project / works. Cross checking with current stock levels held.
  • Ensure that our H&S and Quality Management Systems, procedures and policies are being adhered to internally with our site engineers and externally with Subcontractors.
  • Creating and completing relevant project and site-specific Health & Safety documentation including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Monitor and manage all external Subcontractors. Including resourcing new.
  • Understand the skills sets of the engineers, which is necessary to schedule works. Working with our compliance administrator to ensure the engineer teams training certificates (internal & external) are maintained and the Training Matrix within our Quality Management System remains current at all times.
  • Work with the internal business support functions including :

o Accounts Dept. – purchase orders, invoicing, payments, retention monies

o Health & Safety – to be involved in annual audits, contribute to Company Certifications i.e. SafeContractor, updating, reviewing and completing H&S documentation.

o Quality Management – work with the management team to maintain certification.

o Be involved in annual audits, Management Meetings, take responsibility for actions set within the Management Action Plan.

  • Working with the senior management team to ensure the company retains LPS 1048 Certification, ensuring your departments work practices and process adhere to the requirements of the standard
  • Adhere to the company’s policies as laid out in the H&S Policy Manual and Employee Handbook. Also ensure all members of the Service Department Team are following these company policies
  • Occasional overtime working i.e. Emergency Call-Out Rota (if needed).
  • Package :

  • 45,000 – £50,000 per annum
  • Site overtime rate (time and a half)
