Role Overview :

The Finance Team is essential to STUDIOCANAL, ensuring accurate financial reporting and insightful commercial analysis. The role focuses on the distribution side of the business, which releases 7-10 new films annually.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Calculate, prepare, and post month-end adjustments, and provide P&L, cash flow, and KPI variance analysis with commentaries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain asset registers and post monthly interest and depreciation.
  • Liaise with group companies to prepare and post intercompany recharges.
  • Support UK film productions, including setting up SPVs and liaising with production accountants.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable to ensure invoicing and cash collection are current.
  • Perform VAT checks and prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assist with statutory and grant audits.
  • Maintain group reporting tools and support system development and implementation.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • More than 50% through a professional accounting qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a finance role.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including nested formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIFS.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with a positive attitude.
  • Experience with SAP ERP or similar accounting software.
  • A passion for the film industry and regular interaction with content.
