Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Company Overview Smart Manufacturing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on behalf of a valued client based in Stockton-on-Tees. The successful candidate will join a small, dedicated maintenance team responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of plant equipment and machinery. Key responsibilities include conducting preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out routine service and repair tasks to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Responsibilities

• Work alongside external contractors during the completion of routine servicing and repairs.
• Fault diagnosis and instigate repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance duties on a range of equipment including overhead cranes, CNC machines and shot blasts
• Work alongside section team leaders to identify concerns and rectify machine problems.
• Assist with the safe decommissioning of old plant / equipment and the safe installation / commissioning of new.
• Maintain working areas in accordance with 5S
• Use appropriate safety equipment and techniques to adhere to company procedures.
• Mentor Department trainees / apprentices Requirements
• Apprenticeship or Mechanically qualified - City and Guilds or equivalent level 3
• HNC ( Preferred but not essential)
• MEWP Licence ( Preferred but will be provided)
• Proactive attitude
• Previous experience working with Hydraulic systems
