We are looking for a NOC Operator to work as part of the shift team at the NEP Connect Office in Media City, responsible for controlling all teleport operations for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Teleport Operations Manager with operational duties, including quality control and integrity checks of all incoming and outgoing video and audio signals.
  • Monitor the status and performance of operational systems and ancillary equipment, taking corrective action as required.
  • Communicate fault conditions to engineering support staff, customers, and service suppliers, and generate incident reports.
  • Handle and disseminate information using telephone, VDU, off-air monitoring sound and vision, and email.
  • Establish occasional use services, including taking and making bookings at short notice according to customer requirements.
  • Coordinate services with customers, satellite operators, and third-party providers.
  • Respond to alarms and warnings following established procedures.
  • Perform routine testing, preventative, and corrective maintenance of transmission systems and ancillary equipment.
  • Operate master router switcher and ensure in-house client requirements are met.
  • Log all technical faults and irregularities.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance for studio, lines, and NEP Connect operations.
  • Use NEP Connect scheduling systems to check line bookings and coverage details.
  • Obtain running orders from galleries and cross-check with scheduling information.
  • Advise production staff on studio technical facilities when possible.
  • Report irregularities on system drawings and contribute to their updates.
  • Be familiar with communication and talkback systems.
  • Understand essential services in technical areas such as mains, generators, UPS, air conditioning, and call-out procedures.
  • Perform basic vision control, sound, VTR, and character generator operations.
  • Support other duties as directed by NOC Team Leaders and the NOC Manager.
  • Maintain familiarity with broadcast system standards and waveform measurements.
  • Operate a wide range of equipment including IRDs, Sat Modems, HPAs, Up-converters, Down converters, Encoders, Multiplexers, Stat Muxes, Spectrum analyzers, Standard Converters, VTRs, DVDs, Waveform Analyzers, broadcast routers, TBUs, ISDN codecs, and Talkback units.
  • Support a multi-channel transmission environment.
