Role Overview

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Marine Surveyor who must have excellent integrity to join our dynamic team. This role involves conducting comprehensive surveys of various vessels and onshore facilities, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, and assessing the human element and associated risks affecting crew safety and operational efficiency.

Initial training will involve shadowing one of our experienced surveyors in Risk Management Reviews for insurance underwriters. Once successfully through training you will be undertaking RMRs on Superyachts and subsequently on ships and shore-based facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Vessel Surveys : Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of marine vessels to evaluate their condition, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Human Element Assessment : Evaluate factors such as crew fatigue, situational awareness, decision-making processes, and communication effectiveness to identify potential risks and recommend improvements.
• Risk Management : Identify and assess risks related to vessel operations and crew performance, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate these risks.
• Reporting : Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, recommendations, and compliance issues, utilising industry-standard methodologies.
• Collaboration : Work closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure all marine operations meet safety and environmental regulations.
