Process Metallurgist / Forging Process Engineer

We are delighted to be recruiting for a well known, international manufacturing business in Sheffield, assisting them in their search for a Metallurgist. This can be a role for a recent graduate with a relevant degree, or an individual with more industry experience. Job Description As a result of continued expansion, our client is looking for a Process Metallurgist / Forging Process Engineer to join their successful business, either an experienced individual or newly qualified engineer. After suitable training duties will include : Process Metallurgist : Routing of stock or forging jobs producing materials to a wide variety of customer and international material specifications. Contract review of sales orders. Technical / quality support to the sales department pre and post contract award. Production of pre-production documentation for a wide range of projects and products including customer facing meetings. Witnessing and recording of forging processes carried out at suppliers.Forging Process Engineer : Write procedures for forging orders and tooling. Witnessing and recording the forging process Set / check furnace temperatures Undertake internal heat treatment of tooling and development work Schedule temperature surveys Liaise with forging team members and the technical team.
