Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager for and initial 24 month contract on a starting salary of £49,559 / annum. This role will be hybrid working with an expectation of 2-3 days onsite per week.
Responsibilities :
- To manage a project through its lifecycle stages of identify, initiate, plan, execute, deliver and close. Ensure that progress is tracked, and activity is appropriately monitored and controlled, to enable effective project governance including decision making.
- Lead on the continual project planning process and maintain project delivery momentum aligned to the constraints of time and cost as defined as part of project initiation. Ensure assumptions are tested, dependencies are monitored, and innovative ways to unblock issues are identified.
- Identify and build relationships with relevant leaders, managers, staff, students and external partners to ensure the required multidisciplinary resource to deliver the project is secured. Ensure the delivery flow of the project team is optimised by providing direction, support and coaching to project team members ensuring they are aware of, and able to deliver, their project responsibilities.
- Provide regular, standardised and accurate project management reporting. Providing overview reporting and management information for inclusion in project and associated programme governance reporting. Monitor and report on the key project aspects of scope, cost, plan, deliverables, issue and risk.
- As a member of the programme and project management capability, support the Head of Programme and Project Management and associated community of practice in the continuous improvement of the Programme and Project Management Framework including supporting the delivery of training and development of guidance materials.
Essential Skills :
Educated to a degree level (or equivalent experience) with evidence of personal and professional development.A project management qualification e.g. APM, Prince2Significant evidenced practical experience of successful project delivery utilising a robust approachExperience of project planning and monitoring including the utilisation of reporting and change controlStrong team leadership skills which promote the direction, coordination and coaching of a multidisciplinary project team and facilitate operational decision makingExcellent organisation and time management skills to plan and organise project management activities.Developing effective relationships and establishing trust with leaders and colleaguesCollating information and data, preparing reports, presenting to leaders and facilitating workshopsThe ability to work with minimum supervision, accurately and consistently to high standardsDesirable Skills :
