English Teacher

Excell Supply is seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Shrewsbury. We are looking for the ideal candidate to start in September. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent.

Responsibilities :

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 , following the national curriculum.

Prepare pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature, using varied assessment strategies.

Foster a love of reading and literacy through creative teaching approaches.

Track and monitor student progress, using data to identify and support underachieving learners.

Participate in department planning meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.

Support students with diverse needs, differentiating lesson content where necessary.

Provide clear, constructive feedback on student work and maintain accurate records.

Support the school’s behaviour policy, promoting high expectations and respectful conduct.

Ideal Candidate :

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Recent experience teaching English at secondary level.

Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
