Role Title : Platform Engineer (Azure)

Duration : 6 Months

Location : Telford (2 / 3 Days Per Week)

Rate : £565 Per Day - Umbrella only

Active SC Clearance is required

Role purpose / summary

You will have a good understanding of cloud architecture, focusing on simplicity, decoupling, testing, iteration, and deployment. Actively creating DevOps ways of working by removing silos between traditional functional teams. Undertake cross-functional engineering projects, working in small teams with other engineers in different knowledge spheres, building supportable, sustainable, and reliable services. Provide consultation on application configuration to meet requirements. Design and implement CI / CD pipelines :

  • Develop robust and scalable CI / CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes on Azure.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps or similar tools to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Leverage Azure services including OpenAI, Azure Virtual Desktop, and AKS to architect and deploy scalable solutions.
  • Optimize performance, availability, and cost-efficiency of Azure resources through proper configuration and monitoring.
  • Manage containerized workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar platforms.
  • Implement best practices for containerization, deployment, and scaling of microservices-based applications.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using IaC tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Implement and maintain configuration management solutions to ensure consistency across environments.

  • Understanding of robust Software Engineering practices / methodologies.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders appropriately.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Commercial awareness.
