Overview

A Senior Designer is primarily responsible for designing product ranges and overseeing a department / specialist categories. They must inspire, mentor and manage a team with the support of the Womenswear Design Director.

They have exceptional on brand creative output and ideation, whilst ensuring cohesive ranges across categories that create balanced and unique product for the customer. A Brilliant sense of colour, design and print is needed as well as being able to ensure the Boden brand values are reflected in designs.

Excellent communication skills are essential and a can-do attitude as well as self-evaluation, problem solving and seeking solutions.

Being able to work alongside relevant product teams to create commercial yet creative ranges is essential. Awareness of trends, trade, fabric and margin crunch points to enable the execution of balanced ranges. Seniors will lead fit sessions and making confident decisions and ensure fit attitude is achieved.

Inspirational shopping / supplier visits are required at this level as well as additional creative projects briefed by the Senior Team.

Location : 4 - 5days per week based at our North Acton Office.

What You Will Do

Following the seasonal strategy to design unique and innovative ranges for our customer.

Lead the team as well as upward management.

Excellent sense of colour, print and design.

Gain inspiration and innovative design ideas from a variety of sources to ensure unique Boden product.

Strong delegation skills, time management and prioritising work load essential.

Regular presenting of ranges to senior teams as well as involvement in building ranges.

Ability to edit and show concise ideas as well as self-evaluation and problem solving.

Maintain critical path dates and ensure deadlines are met including within immediate team.

Produce & check detailed technical CAD drawings and development / artwork packs.

Be involved in approvals at all stages from development to production, including washes / fabrics / techniques.

PLM management including, uploading of tech packs, colours, and creating BOMS.

Regular comp shop and inspirational shopping trips.

What We Are Looking For

BA hons Fashion Design / Print / Illustration / Textiles.

Design experience at Designer level.

Management experience required.

Feel part of and contribute towards a positive creative culture.

A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards all aspects of work.

Delegation, negotiation and influencing skills are key to this level.

Excellent knowledge of competitors & aspirational brands.

Excellent eye for colour / print / design.

Excellent CAD skills including Adobe Illustrator.

PLM experience preferable.
