Salary : From £24,246, dependent on experience and role level (Tutor or Lead Tutor)
New Meaning Training (NMT) is looking for a passionate and skilled Hair & Beauty Tutor or Lead Tutor to help shape and deliver our growing vocational offer for learners aged 15–25. This course supports young people who may not thrive in traditional education settings but flourish in hands-on, person-centred environments.
You’ll work across our High Wycombe and Aylesbury centres, helping learners work toward Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications while also developing core life and work skills. This is more than a teaching role — it’s about building confidence, structure and aspirations for life beyond education.
We welcome applicants with strong Hair & Beauty industry backgrounds — especially those with experience training others in the sector. If you’re stepping into teaching for the first time, we’ll support you to get qualified. If you’re an experienced educator ready to lead a programme area, the Lead Tutor pathway could be right for you.
New Meaning Training (NMT) offers education with a difference. We are an alternative education provider dedicated to helping young people aged 15–25 discover their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to earn their own living.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, around 300 young people from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, and Berkshire will join one of our programmes. Many of these students are referred by secondary schools, pupil referral units, and Special Education Needs settings.
Our journey began in 2015 with the opening of our first centre in High Wycombe, originally known as “Toolshed.” Ten years on, NMT continues to grow, with programme expansion plans in Aylesbury and new centres planned for Nuneaton and Milton Keynes in September 2025.
We have a range of programmes at New Meaning Training Bucks & Herts : Construction Multiskills, Motor Mechanics, Sports, Hair & Beauty, Computing, Childcare, Catering and Boost Workskills. Not all programmes are available at every location, but all incorporate functional skills qualifications in Maths and English, along with tutorials to support our well-rounded approach. We also provide a ‘Transition Support’ programme for young people with EHCPs who are not yet ready for a learning setting.
NMT tailors its programmes to meet the needs of its learners, considering Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We comprehensively apply the principles of a Loving Care Approach (Trauma Informed Practice) to ensure all young people receive the support they need to thrive.
