We have vacancies for our PGCE Teacher Training course starting in September 2025 :

Course Structure :

Duration : One-year full-time secondary (11-16) teacher training course.

Qualifications : PGCE and QTS.

Training : 36 weeks including centre-based training, an intensive induction programme, 20 days of intensive training and practice (ITaP), and two school placements.

Support : Weekly one-to-one meetings with School Based Mentors, regular meetings with Subject Leads, and formal observations.

Requirements :

Degree : Relevant to the subject you wish to train for, preferably with at least 50% of your degree in that subject.

GCSEs : Maths and English – grade C / Level 4 or above (or equivalent).

Experience : Preferable to have some experience working with secondary-aged young people.

Funding :

Tuition Fees : £9,500 for the academic year 2025-2026.

Bursaries / Scholarships : Up to £31,000 available for eligible subjects.

Reputation : Recognized for excellence in teacher training. NTTP is an OUTSTANDING provider of Secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) as rated by Ofsted in 2024.

High Success Rates : 100% QTS success rate since 2006 and 100% employment rate in the last 5 years.

Experience : Over 450 secondary school teachers trained in the last 25 years.

Partnership : Based at Northampton School for Boys , an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school (March 2025), and has long-established partnerships with a wide variety of secondary schools across Northamptonshire and neighbouring counties.

Support : Trainees receive support from highly trained School Based Mentors, experienced Subject Specialist Mentors, and the NTTP team.
