Business Analyst - Oil & Gas Trading
Location : London, UK.
Inside IR35 Day Rate : Up to £700 per day
We are seeking highly experienced B usiness Analysts w ith a strong background in c ommodity trading to support a strategic transformation initiative. The successful candidate will work closely with trading, risk, and operations teams to analyse current-state processes, gather business requirements, and drive the business process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work directly with f ront-office traders, schedulers, and risk analysts to capture detailed business requirements across the trading lifecycle (deal capture, scheduling, risk, settlement).
- Translate business needs into clear and structured f unctional and non-functional requirements.
- Map out a s-is and to-be business processes and workflows to support digital transformation.
- Derive d ata analysis and validation efforts related to trade data, pricing, market exposure, and logistics.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to validate solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Work independently and act as a liaison between the business and technology.
- Provide d omain expertise in oil trading operations, including knowledge of crude, refined products, shipping logistics, and physical / financial trading practices.
Required Skills & Experience :
Business Analysis experience in commodity trading (preferably Oil or Gas Trading).Solid understanding of p hysical and financial oil trading workflows, including front, middle, and back-office functions.Familiarity with trade lifecycle processes : d eal entry, confirmation, scheduling, pricing, risk reporting, P&L, settlement.Strong analytical and documentation skills : B RD, FRD, process mapping, data dictionaries, use cases.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage t raders, risk managers, IT, and operations.Ability to work in f ast fast-paced agile environment a nd lead cross-functional workshops.Please reach out for further information :
