The role :
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Specification & Design Engineer to join our Major Projects team.
We are looking for engineers experienced in the following disciplines :
- Design and Development of EHV substations Projects.
- Design and Specification of EHV substation Plant (inc Transformers, Switchgear and ancillary equipment).
- Design & Specification EHV Underground cable systems.
- Design & Specification of EHV Overhead line systems.

You will primarily be responsible for technical development of capital and customer projects for our distribution network, from feasibility through to approved for construction stage, using a suite of engineering standards.

Your design duties will include production of specifications for either EHV substation plant, EHV cable or overhead line systems. Also, including tendering and evaluation to support project delivery.Applying the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to major construction projects.In this role you will liaise with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure that necessary project construction can be carried out robustly, cost effectively and be technically compliantProficiency with using Microsoft Office applications.Ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, requiring first class communication and organisational skills.Key Competencies :
Previous experience in the design and construction of electrical distribution networks up to 132kVEngineering knowledge of EHV power systemsKnowledge of engineering standards and contract management practices that include EHV plant, substations, cables or overhead line systems,Knowledge of standards associated with EHV power systems up to 132kVAbility to manage and prioritise work to ensure project timescales are metThe necessary background experience and technical knowledge to attain Competent Person status as defined in the Company’s Distribution Safety Rules to facilitate personal access to the Company’s operational sitesQualifications and Attributes
