Our role in protecting the UK's national security is unique, and it is our highly trained National Firearms Instructors who are responsible for delivering key firearms training to our officers. This crucial role as a National Firearms Instructor (NFI) includes supporting all aspects of firearms training delivery, coaching tactical and range training, classroom-based training, designing training content, lesson preparation, and conducting Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) assessments.
You will support, develop, and facilitate coaching on firearms tactics and weapon handling to a broad range of officers, from those on Initial Firearms Courses to experienced Firearms Officers completing refresher or specialist courses. The position is full-time on a 10-hour daytime shift pattern, which may include some weekends.

Training : Your training will depend on your previous qualifications and experience, which will be reviewed upon screening. All training includes accommodation, food, transport, and fuel costs, and you will be paid from day one.
Police Constable NFIs must maintain instructor competence through refresher training but are not operationally deployable police officers.
