Speciality Psychiatry Doctor Eating Disorder Unit NO ON CALLS Pay : £80,000, 37.5hrs / week, NO ON-CALLS Essential requirements :

• Hold GMC registration with a full license to practice
• Experience of working in Psychiatry speciality The role :
• 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
• The ward sees patients presenting with severe eating difficulties and have co-morbidity including addiction, depression, anxiety, personality disorder
• Working independently and as a part of a large team of substantive medical staff with each ward led by a Consultant Psychiatrist supported by their Speciality Doctor and other MDT members
• Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment under direct supervision and support from the consultant
• Support the GP in delivering physical health care and emergency treatments in complex care
• Arrange appropriate clinical tests and investigation including taking responsibility to chase up results and act on them in a timely manner
• Ensure physical observation by ward staff are carried out appropriately, review and act upon them in an appropriate manner
• Prepare discharge summaries, reports and other associated documentation as necessary
• Participate in Clinical Governance activities
• Responsible for inducting new Medical Practitioners and providing cover for them when they are on compensatory rest periods
• Share responsibility for taking bloods with site phlebotomists and Medical Practitioners
• Account for contracted hours utilised in research / CPD / other non-clinical duties
• Report to your supervising consultant and have formal supervisions regularly Post Benefits :
