One post for 37 hours per week.
One post for 22.12 hours per week. As this is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
Position : Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) in Head & Neck / Oncology.
1.6 WTE permanent.
An exciting opportunity to join the SLT Head & Neck / Oncology team in NHS Lothian, providing a specialist service across two sites : St John’s Hospital in Livingston and the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
There are two posts available : one full-time and one part-time (6 sessions).
The successful candidate will work as part of a small SLT team and wider multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge for a complex range of patients.
Responsibilities include supervising junior SLTs, clinical support workers, assistant practitioners, and SLT students.
The role involves developing and delivering training programs for professionals and carers, educating them about therapy processes and interventions related to patients' medical and social needs.
Applicants should be qualified SLTs with relevant clinical experience in adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders, motivated to work in this specialist area, and committed to CPD.
A SLT degree qualification or equivalent and HCPC registration are essential.
Evidence of significant post-registration professional practice experience across the four pillars of practice is required.
