Role Overview

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager with engineering background to join a high-profile railway client on a 3-month contract. The role is based in Cambridge or Colchester, with a daily rate of £230 (PAYE) or £305.44 (umbrella rate).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily activities of the facilities management helpdesk and maintenance contractors.
  • Oversee property contracts, ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards, prioritizing customer service.
  • Adhere to ISO 55001 Asset Management standards and annual accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, and fabric elements of the estate in compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Identify faults and audit stations onsite.
  • Administer facilities contracts within the asset management system.
  • Project manage small projects from inception to completion, updating stakeholders.
  • Support asset management team in trend analysis and maintenance policy optimization.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commercial and financial understanding.
  • Knowledge of contract management.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, especially CDM.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of rail industry construction issues.
  • Membership in a property professional body (BIFM or RICS) or working towards it.
  • Basic knowledge of building management.
  • Full driving license.
  • NEBOSH health and safety qualification (preferred).
