Director, Fleet and Logistics
The Director, Fleet & Logistics provides leadership, vision, direction and structure to the AdaptHealth Supply Chain and logistics functions, ensuring that it is aligned with the overarching AdaptHealth strategic priorities and company needs.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities :
- Develops, implements, and maintains the overarching AdaptHealth Fleet and Logistics governance framework, incorporating policies, procedures, systems, structures, and tools for all related activities.
- Provides strategic leadership of proactive customer-centric logistics functions to meet or exceed service expectations.
- Brings Fleet and Logistics strategic know-how and helps position AdaptHealth as the Industry leader in Direct to Patient delivery services.
- Develops and manages the fleet budget. Managed costs related to fuel, fleet repairs, and other associated operational expenses.
- Leads fleet and logistics services in maintaining operational efficiency and expediency, ensuring integrity and stewardship through a robust quality assurance framework, as well as rigorous, cost-effective service delivery,
- Collaborates with other leaders across the company to ensure logistics activities are fulfilled efficiently and effectively. Builds and maintains a standard for Fleet vehicle build out. Develops the overall strategy for lease versus buy analysis and measurement.
- Partners with Procurement to ensure that relationships with Fleet and Logistics providers are managed according to company policy and procedures. Brings new and innovative suppliers to the forefront to continue to drive efficiency and effectiveness in how AdaptHealth delivers for patients.
- Oversees all operational activities that are required to ensure AdaptHealth’s fleet and logistics compliance, including internal controls, risk assessment and mitigation, forward planning, and strategic vendor management. Works collectively with the EH&S team to develop and implement safety programs and procedures relative to fleet management and driver safety.
- Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to capture, evaluate, and report on the performance of all logistics activities. Ensures that KPIs are used for continuous improvement and for strategic decision-making.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to build trust, influence, and facilitate the acceptable of new approaches and operating practices.
- Represents procurement and logistics functions on cross-functional initiatives. Engages with other departments such as finance, compliance, and legal to ensure strong and effective collaboration.
- Represents AdaptHealth in relevant external settings, including meetings with key suppliers and service providers, peer organizations, industry bodies, and leads or participates in negotiations for collaboration, partnership or complex contractual arrangements as necessary.
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and functions within the guidelines of HIPAA.
- Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program and applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, procurement, or a related discipline from an accredited university required, Master’s degree preferredTen (10) years of relevant work experience required in a Supply Chain related team or function.Seven (7) years of management experience in a Fleet and / or Logistics leadership role.Two (2) years healthcare experience, preferably in HMELean Six Sigma experience and certification preferredIndustry recognized certification such as the APICS’ Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP); the Institute for Supply Management’s Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent, is preferredValid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residencePhysical Demands and Work Environment :
