Pulse have recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Harlow, which is easily accessible via public transport.
About the role :
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilful intervention to infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses with a focus on improving the client’s development in the areas of fine and gross motor skills, play skills, social skills, and self-care skills within the professional scope of practice.
Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist :
- Assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric motor and sensory impairments; document deficits.
- Evaluate physical conditions, develop treatment plans, and adapt environments for improved function.
- Apply various practice frameworks (neurodevelopmental, biomechanical, etc.) and therapy techniques.
- Train patients / caregivers in using assistive and mobility devices; prescribe home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and write evaluation and progress reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and build rapport with clients.
- Manage schedules productively and contribute to clinical practice development.
- Follow professional, legal, and ethical guidelines; engage in ongoing professional development.
What we are looking for in an Occupational Therapist :
A recognised professional degree qualification in Occupational HealthHCPC RegisteredMinimum qualifications include completion of an Occupational Therapy degree, from an accredited UniversityStrong clinical experience – at least 2 years post graduate OT experience preferred, preferably in a pediatric setting with exposure to children with disabilitiesBackground clearance by the DOJ and FBIAnnual TB test clearanceCPR and First Aid certificatesCurrent license with the appropriate licensing boardGood physical health and fitness and the ability to lift up to 50lbs, extended periods of standing and / or sitting on the floorDemonstrates the ability to take on additional responsibilities with time, including assessment and development of treatment plans for more complex cases, supervision of therapy aides / volunteers and additional clinic responsibilitiesAbility to travel for periods of time for training / treating may be requiredWhy work with Pulse?
