The Role

Performs set-up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centres to manufacture metallic and / or non-metallic parts to very close tolerances under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail.

1 week rotation on shifts

Dayshift 07 : 00 - 15 : 00 (Mon-Fri)

Backshift 15 : 00 - 22 : 30 (Mon-Fri)

Nightshift 22 : 30 – 07 : 00 (Sun-Thur)

Key Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
• Interpret work instructions.
• Identify, select and set up tooling for operations being performed.
• Operate multiple machine tools and operations.
• Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
• Visually inspects final components.
• Uses precision measuring instruments & gauging devices and performs various quality inspection type procedures to include dimensional verification.
• Assumes responsibility for quality and functionality.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Maintain a team focused work environment.
• Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.
• Ability to work rotating Day / Back / Night shifts.
• Seek out and identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.
• Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduced setup times and improve productivity.
