The role
As a Senior Project Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for independently managing complex project schedules that support the safe, timely and efficient delivery of high-value programmes.
Day-to-day, you’ll apply expert knowledge of planning principles and tools like Primavera P6 to maintain integrated schedules, while aligning with NEC4 contract methodologies and delivering value across the full project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain project structures and integrated schedules (Levels 1–3)
- Provide regular schedule updates, metrics (e.g. critical path / total float), and variance analysis
- Conduct critical path analysis and earned value reporting, communicating corrective actions
- Ensure alignment of schedules with cost and material demand tools
- Lead planning workshops and contribute to risk analysis and “what-if” scenarios
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Planner
Extensive experience in a similar planning role within engineering or infrastructureAdvanced user of Primavera P6 with a strong understanding of planning best practiceDemonstrable experience working under NEC4 contract frameworksProven expertise in schedule risk analysis, earned value, and interactive planning workshopsFull lifecycle planning experience from bid through to close-outQualifications for the Senior Project Planner
A degree in engineering, project or construction management is desirableSecurity Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
