HVAC Engineer (nuclear)

HVAC Engineer (nuclear) – Contract – Remote Working Location : Remote / Working from Home This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Renewable Energy sectors. The successful applicant must have current Security Clearance and nuclear industry experience. This role is remote working and is deemed to be outside IR35. Role & Responsibilities

• Design new HVAC systems and upgrading existing ones, ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Guide the delivery of high-quality written work, including functional specifications, basis of design, equipment specifications, and validation and verification plans.
• Manage and review detailed design drawings, layouts, and schematics, including heating, ventilation, LTHW, chilled water, specialist LEV, and BMS installations.
• Create detailed reports and documentation to ensure compliance with CDM requirements.
• Develop essential multi-discipline design documents such as Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, and Quality Plans.
• Produce essential HVAC deliverables, from technical reports to engineering drawings and building services calculations.
• Verify the design and deliverables of other senior mechanical designers to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Oversee and approve documentation such as assessment / condition reports, survey reports, basis of designs, and procurement specifications.
• Lead the preparation of project estimates, including equipment and man-hour costs.
• Take responsibility for ensuring compliance with construction (design and management) regulations across multiple projects.
• Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews.
• Liaising with Clients and managing their needs and expectations. Key Skills & Knowledge
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered status preferred but not essential.
• Must have proven experience in Energy sector – nuclear industry experience a distinct advantage.
• Experience of working with industry software such as AutoCAD, Plant3D, CAESAR Stress Analysis. Additional Information This role is remote working and is deemed to be outside IR35. The successful applicant must have current Security Clearance and nuclear industry experience
