Job Title : HGV Mechanic Location : Shotts, Scotland Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 08 : 00 – 17 : 30 Salary : £42,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) About the Role : We’re looking for an experienced and dependable HGV Mechanic to join a well-established transport operation based in Shotts. Working in a fully equipped workshop, you’ll carry out routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a varied fleet of HGVs and trailers, ensuring all vehicles remain safe, roadworthy, and compliant with DVSA standards. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with consistent weekday hours and a highly competitive salary package. Key Responsibilities :

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on HGVs and trailers
• Conduct routine inspections and servicing in line with DVSA and company standards
• Carry out MOT preparations, safety checks, and post-repair testing
• Record all work carried out using internal job card systems
• Liaise with drivers and operations staff to report defects and plan repairs
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment to a high standard
• Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to all Health & Safety policies Requirements :
• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification) preferred
• Knowledge of modern HGV systems (braking, suspension, electronics, etc.)
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence is advantageous)
• Ability to work independently with a focus on safety and quality What’s on Offer :
