Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield on a full-time permanent basis.
Salary : £26,580 per annum, plus £2,000 shift allowance.
Working hours : 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.
The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery / collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers' hours legislation.
Key Duties Of A Transport Coordinator
- Creating and updating daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines.
- Ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained in collaboration with other departments.
- Planning runs using the driver rota, considering shift patterns, holidays, and sickness.
- Ensuring legal compliance regarding defects, services, MOTs, etc.
- Maintaining clear communication with drivers regarding start times, load info, directions, shifts, etc.
- Adhering to statutory, legal, health and safety, and safe systems of work policies.
- Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return-to-work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc., to maintain standards.
Qualifications
Proven knowledge of tachograph and driving regulations.Transport experience within an FMCG environment is desirable.Strong planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines under pressure.Previous management or supervisory experience.Excellent communication skills for accurate information delivery.Good IT skills, including MS Office, with attention to detail.Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers' hours regulations.CPC National qualification is desirable but not essential.Additional Information
