We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quarry Supervisor to help lead our friendly operations team based at Tarmac Reilly Quarry, Johnstone, Renfrewshire. As well as Johnstone this site is accessible from Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Quarry Supervisor will have responsibility for managing the Quarry, taking ownership of performance and quality. You will be responsible for achieving and maximising the efficiency of the production process and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for mobile plant - delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key.Managing site compliance and ensuring legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.

As Quarry Supervisor you will be responsible for :

• Managing, coaching and developing a highly skilled, fit for purpose and extremely motivated team to ensure business continuity and reduce business risk
• Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives, whilst maintaining disciplined stock management processes and producing operational reports
• All aspects of budgetary control for all site operations
• Maintaining and implementing existing and new, Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments and training your staff on the same
• Managing and overseeing the safe operation of the sites and the planned preventative maintenance of all the site’s equipment
• Reporting and investigating any unsafe or hazardous working practices
• Issuing of safety briefings and toolbox talks to your operational team
• Managing proactively both mandatory training and developmental training of your staff and keep an up-to-date training matrix
• Collating and report on monthly performance KPI and driving operational performance through KPI’s

This role is working across Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday morning required to meet with our plant operational and customer needs.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in the role of Quarry Supervisor you will ideally have experience and knowledge of different methods of winning and extracting raw material as well as knowledge of techniques employed to load extracted minerals and viable options to transport extracted minerals and its applications within the industry, including feeding, crushing, screening, separation, classification and beneficiation techniques.
