Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurse
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurse to join the Intensive Support Team in Suffolk.
As an all-age service, we welcome applicants with experience working with adults or children with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism.
The Intensive Support Team is part of the Acute Service, collaborating with the Assessment and Treatment Inpatient Unit co-located in Ipswich.
The role involves supporting the prevention of admissions or care breakdown by understanding the functions of challenging behaviors, using Applied Behavioral Analysis and Positive Behavioral Support approaches.
We also facilitate timely and secure discharges from inpatient units by working across hospital services.
The team is part of the Learning Disability and Autism Pathway, which adopts a fresh approach to service delivery. We are a vibrant, creative, multidisciplinary team that works closely with statutory, private, and voluntary sector services.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will work directly with service users across Suffolk in various settings, including homes, hospitals, and educational provisions. Building relationships with carers, service users, and professionals is key, along with conducting assessments and formulating intervention strategies to improve quality of life.
Supervisory responsibilities for Clinical Support Workers or Assistant Practitioners may be included.
