While campers are taking part in unique experiences and adventures, our Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aides are developing leadership skills and confidence while making lasting friendships and memories.

As a Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aide, you will support and assist individuals with disabilities enrolled in Y programs to promote participation and independence. You will ensure individualized needs are met, serve as a role model, and guide participants through activities that foster a positive learning environment and life skills development.

What you'll do
Program Participant Experience
Support inclusion and high-quality camp programming, creating an outstanding experience for children, parents, and familiesModify activities and promote participation and independence, maintaining confidentialityModel socially acceptable behaviors using positive reinforcement and implement behavior management plans when neededCommunicate regularly with team members, leaders, and parents about participant progressSupport program activities and substitute support as neededParticipant Safety
Ensure health and safety by following YMCA standards and evaluating risksBe attentive to the specific needs of individuals with disabilitiesMaintain safety rules, monitor participants, and address unsafe conditionsSet up and store equipment properly, reporting damages or needsWhat you'll Need
High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years oldExperience working with children, especially with disabilities, preferredPassion for the YMCA's mission and serving diverse youthKnowledge of child development and appropriate practicesAbility to implement inclusion plans and manage behaviorsStrong communication and relationship-building skillsMeet physical and background check requirementsChild Abuse Prevention
