Job Description : PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • We are looking for a financial regulation Managing Associate or Legal Director to join the London Team, working closely with Partners and clients across the UK and internationally. You will collaborate with RLB Partners (Rosanna Bryant, Clare Hughes, Sophie Skelton) to grow the practice.
  • This role offers opportunities in delivering regulatory advice, client relationship development, and expanding the team, with clear career progression.

THE TEAM

Addleshaw Goddard's Financial Regulation Team is one of the largest in the UK, with lawyers and compliance professionals across Leeds, London, and Scotland. The team is led by Rosanna Bryant and includes 10 Partners and around 21 fee earners.

  • The RLB Team is tier 1 ranked in Chambers and Partners. Chambers 2025 highlights our strength in consumer finance.
  • Our clients include major banks, challenger banks, building societies, credit providers, asset finance companies, and niche lenders. We produce publications and participate in trade associations and forums.

    • WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE

  • Work closely with RLB Partners and team members, delivering high-quality client work and supporting business development.
  • Opportunities for client secondments and professional growth.
  • Responsibilities include drafting customer documentation, managing client relationships, reviewing marketing materials, assessing legislation impacts, conducting compliance audits, providing legal guidance, assisting with FCA applications, and enforcement actions.

    • YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • At least 5 years' experience advising on regulated lending and banking, including the Consumer Credit Act and related regulations.
  • A genuine interest in this area and proactive knowledge development.
  • Strong client relationship skills and teamwork orientation.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, tailored advice.
  • Support for complex transactions and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
