Job description

Location : Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central belt etc.

Salary : Up to £57,750 per year (dependant on experience) with a strong benefits package - plus extensive overtime available.

Working Hours : 37-hour basic week, Full Time / Permanent, Flexible / Hybrid options.

Role : To enact the role of Client Representative on site ensuring that the site-based construction activities across Scottish Power- Strategic Projects are efficiently managed in accordance with Scottish Power policies and procedures.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is proactive in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, managing all safety aspects of the construction-based activities.
  • Review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, advising the EPC Project Manager of any risks, opportunities, or delays.
  • Facilitate regular site safety walks and coordination meetings with all contractors on site.
  • Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Strategic Projects.
  • Coach and mentor other staff as required.

What You Will Bring

  • Primary knowledge of construction and related activities including RAMS & ITP’s, Hazard Identification & Mitigation.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership & planning skills.
  • Basic Project Management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and work in a team and contractor’s environment.
  • Expert understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices.

    • Minimum Requirements

  • HNC / HND or equivalent experience in an engineering and or construction discipline.
  • SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or SSSTS.
  • Formal training in relevant areas.
  • IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
