Service Engineer - Hybrid (Elec / Mech)

Global Fire and Security Systems

Field Based - Covering Stirling and the surrounding area.

Full Time - Up to £55,000 expected earnings

Thanks to a combined wealth of knowledge and experience between our directors, Global have become industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems.

Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Service Engineers - Hybrid, to be field based covering Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

Training Provided

Ideally, you will have experience of the servicing and maintenance of electrical fire systems equipment, such as GENT, Notifier Advanced, Kentec.

If you also have experience of Ansul R102 systems and servicing Fire Extinguishers, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we can train you in the rest!

Job Purpose :

  • To undertake all electrical and mechanical service and maintenance works within the Area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.
  • To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.

Key Accountabilities

  • To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety
  • To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports
  • To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work
  • To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures
  • To undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate
  • To maintain and service fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems (Ansul R102)
  • To report any defects at time of service visit
  • To carry out works specified
  • To be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials
  • To complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
  • About You

  • Some demonstrable Fire Industry experience is preferred
  • Ideally FIA qualifications
  • Possibly City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent
  • IEE 18th Edition Regulations would be ideal
  • Some experience of electrical fire life safety works, within the services sector would be great
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
  • Strong customer care focus
  • Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Customer focused, possess good organisational skills.
