The JRL Group is a leading Construction company that specialises in Main Contracting & RC Frames, along with 14+ divisions delivering bespoke solutions for complex projects.
The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for providing specialist support to JRL Group and its developments, delivering sustainability and ESG initiatives across major construction projects. This is a full-time role, located in Borehamwood, with travel to site, reporting to the Head of Sustainability.
Responsibilities Include
- Delivering the sustainability strategy and programme across the business unit, addressing JRL's sustainability ambitions, strategy, and targets.
- Collaborating with JRL teams and clients to ensure they meet their Sustainability KPIs and contractual obligations.
- Engaging with projects from early involvement through to delivery to identify and embed carbon and circularity savings.
- Reporting on client emissions and identifying reduction initiatives.
- Representing JRL on project-related local forums, committees, and groups.
- Providing guidance and support to sites on community aspects of CCS to improve scores.
- Recording meeting minutes, site visit reports, and correspondence to demonstrate progress against sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, WELL, NABERS targets.
- Developing and delivering training and awareness programs for site teams.
- Supporting corporate environmental and sustainability activities, including knowledge sharing and volunteering initiatives.
Skills / Experience
A solid understanding of sustainability, environmental issues, and the impact of the built environment.Ensuring timely, accurate client reporting and meeting contractual obligations.Ability to network, build relationships, and influence internal and external stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse audiences.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Ability to engage well with others and influence key stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Relevant degree or work experience in sustainability or related fields.Experience in data reporting.Willingness to travel as needed.An innovative mindset.The role offers opportunities for growth, training, and career development within a progressive organisation.
