Position : Head of HV Electrical Compliance
Location : UK based - flexible location - hybrid working
Salary : £90-120K pa , plus car allowance, plus bonus and excellent benefits package
Our client, a leading UK Engineering Services business, are looking to appoint a new Head of HV Head of HV Electrical Compliance who will play a lead role in shaping HV Safety and Compliance.
This successful candidate will serve as the company’s representative for NERS audits and ensure robust safety governance is embedded across all HV activities.
This is a senior-level opportunity, where you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and safety leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee HV operational practices to ensure consistent compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Implement and manage the Division’s Electrical Safety Management System , driving continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update the High Voltage Electrical Safety Rules and related operational procedures.
- Act as the Designated Engineer under the HV Safety Rules for the business.
- Ensure electrical risk assessments and method statements remain accurate, up to date, and fully compliant.
- Chair the Electrical Governance Board , promoting technical excellence and consistent working standards.
- Represent the company in NERS audits , ensuring successful outcomes and maintaining registration standards.
- Lead investigations into electrical incidents and represent the business in external review forums.
- Chair the Electrical Critical Risk Group , setting and monitoring competence and training standards.
Skills / Experience Required :
Substantial experience in a similar leadership role within a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) environment.Chartered Electrical Engineer , with demonstrable technical depth and leadership experience.Previously held roles such as Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and Assessing Officer .Deep understanding of HV systems, private networks, and DNO liaison requirements.Proven ability to lead on safety, governance, and compliance in high-risk electrical environments.Confident communicator, capable of engaging effectively with clients, regulators, and internal teams.NEBOSH qualification or equivalent safety accreditation (preferred but not essential).If you wish to be considered for this role, please apply with an upto date CV, or contact Tahanee @ Fortiva if you wish to discuss further.
