Job description

Our client, a growing energy consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. You will oversee the entire 360 sales cycle , from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, while assisting businesses with energy procurement and renewable solutions for cost efficiency and sustainability . Key responsibilities :

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the energy and renewables sector
  • Target high-energy-consuming clients with multi-site operations across Europe
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the client base
  • Leverage industry insights and market trends to introduce innovative solutions
  • Help clients decarbonise through PPAs, private wire solar and BESS
  • Manage client portfolios, ensuring high retention and post-sales support
  • Build strong client relationships for long-term growth
  • Advise on energy procurement strategies and optimal buying decisions
  • Collaborate with the Director of Renewables and marketing team on strategic initiatives

Skills and experience required :

  • 3-5 years in sales or business development within the UK energy sector, focusing on renewables, energy procurement, or sustainability solutions
  • Proven experience selling renewable energy solutions (solar, BESS, EV charging).
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Expertise in strategic prospecting and data-driven sales strategies
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities and drive expansion in renewables
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Multilingual (optional) : Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian
  • Willing to travel across the UK and Europe to engage with clients
