Job Title : Class 2 Gritter Diver Location : Manchester / Trafford / M23 9LF Salary : £16.00 per hour, plus £150 standby rate per week Contract Type : Temporary Sector : Highway Maintenance All CV’s to – (url removed) A trusted partner to organizations operating in the public sector are seeking a Class 2 Gritter Driver to support Winter Maintenance Operations across Trafford from October 2025 through April 2026. This is a vital seasonal role ensuring road safety during colder months by operating winter gritting vehicles. You will be required to work alone covering 6 routes around the Trafford area on a rotational basis. The role will be covering weekdays and weekends The role does require you to have a full UK Class 2 licence, a valid CPC and Tacho Card, and 3 years minimum driving experience.  No winter gritting experience? No problem – the company will provide training in July, paid at the hourly rate. This is a great opportunity to step into a new area of driving. The duties of the Class 2 Gritter Driver will include : Operating Class 2 Winter Gritters across designated routes Working independently on a rotating shift pattern Maintaining safety and vehicle checks in adverse weather conditions Being on standby – paid regardless of whether you're called out We are looking for a Class 2 Gritter Drivers with : Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card Minimum 3 years’ HGV driving experience Willingness to work flexible hours and in adverse conditions 6195 Winter Maintenance ticket – desirable, not essential In return you will receive a salary of  £16.00 per hour for driving and training hour, £150 weekly standby payment (even if not called out),Paid training in July (hourly rate, no standby pay during training) Interviews will begin next week with training scheduled for July 2025 and the role starts in October 2025.
