Senior Stress Engineer – Defence / Nuclear – Derby – Permanent

Are you a stress analysis specialist ready to step into a high-impact role supporting the UK’s most critical infrastructure?

We're hiring a Senior Stress Engineer to join a leading engineering team based on-site in Derby . This is a full-time, staff position working 5 days per week on site — no hybrid working — supporting advanced projects in the defence and nuclear sectors .

What you’ll be doing :

• Delivering structural integrity substantiations via FEA and code-based assessments
• Supporting peer reviews and technical documentation
• Modelling and analysis using ABAQUS (explicit / implicit), Python scripting a plus
• Applying standards including ASME B&PVC, R6, and ideally RCC-M
• Providing defect tolerance and fatigue / fracture analysis
• Working within quality and time budgets, contributing to bids as required
