As part of our continued expansion in the North-East, we are looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Newly Qualified Solicitor with a keen interest in serious injury litigation to join our expert legal team in Newcastle.

The Role :

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor to gain invaluable experience in complex and high-value personal injury work, including brain, spinal, amputation, and fatal injury claims. You will work closely with experienced partners and senior fee earners on multimillion-pound cases, supporting the delivery of outstanding client service and effective litigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the defence of large loss personal injury claims, including catastrophic injury cases arising from motor, EL / PL, and employer incidents
  • Drafting court documents, instructions to counsel, and detailed reports for insurer clients
  • Conducting legal research and contributing to case strategy
  • Attending conferences with counsel, client meetings, and court hearings
  • Supporting business development and maintaining excellent client relationships

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (0–1 year PQE)
  • Previous experience (via training contract or paralegal role) in serious / complex injury, defendant litigation, or personal injury defence work is highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • A commercial approach and an understanding of insurer clients’ needs
  • A strong team player with a proactive and adaptable attitude
