Attendance Officer

A well-regarded school in Shropshire is looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their team from September. This is a key pastoral and administrative role, focused on improving student attendance and supporting the wider wellbeing of the school community.

As Attendance Officer, you'll be at the heart of the school’s efforts to ensure pupils attend regularly, feel supported, and are ready to succeed. You’ll work closely with families, staff, and external services to promote good habits, track attendance data, and provide a welcoming point of contact for attendance queries.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitor and manage student attendance records

Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil attendance

Support staff in implementing attendance strategies

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with school policy

Strong administrative skills and attention to detail

A clear understanding of the link between attendance and attainment

Able to work independently and as part of a wider team

Calm, proactive, and aligned with the school’s inclusive ethos

Willing to support First Aid when needed (training provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
