Hays are recruiting for an established andmunity-focused housing association in Glasgow. They are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join their busy team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a finance background who’s looking to make a real impact in a meaningful sector. This role is a 35-hour working week, with standard working hours being 9am-5pm.

Your new role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for :

  • Accurately bank and post payments to owners’ accounts
  • Update the cashbook andplete regular bank reconciliations
  • Process telephone payments and maintain clear payment records
  • Manage deposit transactions, including refunds andmon charge reconciliations
  • Ensure timely invoicing for factored owners and tenants mercial and mid-market rent)
  • Perform customer account reconciliations upon tenancy termination
  • Make arrears phone calls and support debt collection processes in line with regulations
  • Liaise with solicitors and internal departments regarding property sales and ownership change.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliation and accounts receivable processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Ability tomunicate professionally with customers and stakeholders
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with confidence in working both independently and in a team
