Job Description :

The Maintenance Planner offers a basic salary of £39,500 working for a PLC listed, market-leading manufacturer based at their Throckley factory near Newcastle.

The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the Site Engineering Manager and Engineering Team Leaders to maximize the performance of engineering operations. They will be responsible for work planning of the maintenance team and contract labour, including shutdowns and PPMs.

Main duties of the Maintenance Planner :

  • Lead maintenance shutdown coordination, establishing best engineering practices
  • Control and update the engineering shift plan for all personnel, including contractors
  • Chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities
  • Manage work backlog for maintenance activities and engineering tasks
  • Implement and support the new CMMS and T-card systems
  • Collaborate with engineering and operational managers to schedule work for shift engineers, improving asset reliability
  • Coordinate with production and services to ensure maintenance is planned and executed efficiently
  • Manage records and documentation for all plant equipment and insurance
  • Coordinate contractor activities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
  • Experience required :

  • Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning
  • Strong organizational skills and resource planning
  • Engineering qualifications (NVQ3, HNC)
  • Mechanical and Electrical engineering skills
  • Problem-solving tools and techniques for efficiency
