Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles through thorough inspections and assessments. This position requires a commitment to high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on various vehicle types, ensuring adherence to legal standards.

Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.

Identify any faults or issues that may affect vehicle safety or performance.

Document findings accurately and provide clear explanations to customers regarding necessary repairs or maintenance.

Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for testing and repairs as needed.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.

Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the workshop.

Experience

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various vehicle issues.

Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of regular duties.

Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and explain technical information clearly.
