Job descriptionProven experience designing electronic enclosures for industrial, consumer, automotive, or defence applications Strong proficiency with PTC Creo Good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes – particularly sheet metal , die-cast , and plastic injection moulding Able to work independently and liaise with cross-functional teams Familiarity with DFM / DFA principles and working with suppliers / manufacturers
We are currently seeking an experienced Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to support a key client in the design and development of electronic enclosures for high-performance industrial or consumer products. This is a contract role ideally suited to someone with a strong background in mechanical design using PTC Creo and a solid understanding of designing for electronics integration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the mechanical design of electronic enclosures, including sheet metal and injection-moulded plastic components
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and assembly documentation using Creo
- Collaborate closely with electronics and systems engineers to ensure mechanical and electrical integration
- Manage design iterations through prototyping, testing, and feedback cycles
- Ensure all designs meet relevant environmental, thermal, and EMC compliance standards
- Work within tight timescales to support product delivery milestones
