About This Role

We are looking for a driven and technically capable Area Sales Manager to develop and grow sales opportunities across the South of the UK. This role focuses on the promotion, specification, and sale of a specialist range of magnetic separation and metal detection equipment suitable for use across both recycling, mining, minerals, food and packaging to name a few.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Identifying and targeting key customers to increase brand visibility and market share.
  • Developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships across industry sectors.
  • Specifying and quoting suitable equipment solutions for customer applications.
  • Proactively developing new business (approx. 60% of time spent on new account acquisition).
  • Conducting technical site visits and surveys as needed.
  • Keeping thorough records of all customer communications and opportunities using a CRM system.
  • Collaborating closely with management to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Supporting the broader sales and technical teams with product expertise.
  • Representing the company at domestic and international exhibitions and trade shows.
  • Delivering training to customers, agents, and affiliates when necessary.

Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B / industrial sales.
  • Background in supplying equipment for sectors such as food processing, packaging, or plastics is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in closing deals and securing long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in sales strategy development and implementation.
  • Ability to independently manage and grow major customer accounts.
  • Confident decision-maker with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of meeting targets and deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the South of the UK (approx. 4 days per week).
  • Openness to international travel.
  • Committed to professional development and receptive to feedback and mentoring.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external clients.
