About This Role
We are looking for a driven and technically capable Area Sales Manager to develop and grow sales opportunities across the South of the UK. This role focuses on the promotion, specification, and sale of a specialist range of magnetic separation and metal detection equipment suitable for use across both recycling, mining, minerals, food and packaging to name a few.
Key responsibilities include :
- Identifying and targeting key customers to increase brand visibility and market share.
- Developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships across industry sectors.
- Specifying and quoting suitable equipment solutions for customer applications.
- Proactively developing new business (approx. 60% of time spent on new account acquisition).
- Conducting technical site visits and surveys as needed.
- Keeping thorough records of all customer communications and opportunities using a CRM system.
- Collaborating closely with management to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Supporting the broader sales and technical teams with product expertise.
- Representing the company at domestic and international exhibitions and trade shows.
- Delivering training to customers, agents, and affiliates when necessary.
Requirements :
Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B / industrial sales.Background in supplying equipment for sectors such as food processing, packaging, or plastics is highly desirable.Proven track record in closing deals and securing long-term customer relationships.Strong negotiation, persuasion, and strategic planning skills.Experience in sales strategy development and implementation.Ability to independently manage and grow major customer accounts.Confident decision-maker with strong organizational and time management skills.Capable of meeting targets and deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks.Willingness to travel extensively within the South of the UK (approx. 4 days per week).Openness to international travel.Committed to professional development and receptive to feedback and mentoring.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external clients.
