Planner – Environment

Annesley

What you will be doing :

An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join the team at Galliford Try. The Planner role for the Framework supports the business unit by ensuring effective planning techniques are provided to support the planning, monitoring and reporting across a wide range of projects of varying scale and complexity.

You will work specifically on the Severn Trent or Welsh Water AMP 7 programme, where our role is to provide 100’s of Sustainable Urban Drainage solutions across Mansfield Town within the community areas.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Annesley area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites / projects in the Region.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Ensure that the programme content and functionality is compliant with Galliford Try’s Planning Processes and Procedures.
  • Provide full life-cycle planning across multiple projects; bids, pre-construction and live projects.
  • Review documents, specifications and scopes, identifying contract requires and major constraints.
  • Provide detailed bid programmes, method statements and logistics proposals for inclusion in the final submission.
  • Provide outline plans and methodologies at bid stage.
  • Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements.
  • Produce detailed fully integrated design, procurement and construction stage Contract Programmes, that may also require to be fully resourced and cost-loaded.
  • Use Earned Value or similar techniques to demonstrate performance.
  • Prepare progress data and produce relevant progress reports.
  • Identify alternative methodologies / sequences that improve project completion date(s).
  • Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes.
  • Ascertain and report progress on pre-construction and live projects, foreseeing potential delays and advising of mitigation measures.
  • Develop Sectional Construction, Completion and Mitigation Programmes at relevant stages of the projects, whilst maintaining Contract integrity as required.
  • Assist the Business in claims and / or disputes.
  • Assist and develop Junior team members where required.

About You :

  • Ability to interact with project, design and central office team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritise activities in a challenging environment.
  • Degree or HND in an engineering or project / construction management discipline although relevant experience or related qualification will be considered.
  • Experience in planning, progress measurement, Performance reporting and change management on all project phases from front end design through to construction and commissioning gained with an engineering contractor.
  • Good IT skills including software skills in Primavera P6 (essential), MS Excel & Word.
