Summary Description
The Town Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) will be the Proper Officer of Yarm Town Council, responsible for carrying out all functions of the Council including legal notices, administration, and management within the legal framework. The role involves ensuring that the Council's instructions are implemented, providing legal advice, managing finances, and overseeing the administration of the Council's activities, projects, and forward planning.
The role includes responding to resident enquiries, liaising with community partners, working closely with town Councillors, and delivering projects resulting from council decisions. The Town Clerk has overall responsibility for operations, management of council sites and assets, including Willey Flatts, Snaith's Field, Yarm Cemetery, Town Hall, Heritage Centre, allotments, and other community facilities. The role also involves managing town events and community displays.
Canvassing of an officer or Member of Yarm Town Council will lead to disqualification.
